There are not too many places to fly in the blue mountains. That's what we get for living on top of a mountain..
Melrose park in Katoomba has a large open area for very small foamies or small rotorcraft.
There a lot of areas west of Katoomba, from the bottom of mount victoria pass to the west, as the mountains turn to paddocks.
